Blocks are really harsh, and no we are not talking about the single ticks on WhatsApp. Unfortunately, we are still Noobs on giving advice on “how to get unblocked by your ex”. However, what we can help you unblock is the creative side of your brain.

Ask “But Why?”, five times to get to the root of the topic, the reasons why you have a creative block or to get to a point where you have thought enough about a topic to find inspiration. Here’s an example:

I am unable to post regularly.

Why? Because I am unable to write consistently.

Why? Because I am unable to come up with new ideas.

Why? Because I am not finding any inspiration.

Why? Because I am waiting for it to come to me.

Why? Because I don’t know where to look.

Voila! You aren’t posting consistently because you don’t know where to look for inspiration. In that case, we’d recommend some social media monitoring.

If you’re trying to understand your audience, why not start with trying to be them? Yes, we know, you’re cool and you wouldn’t want to let go of yourself but your audience is cool too (I mean, they follow you for a reason, don’t they? ;)) Try to see from their point of view as to what they would like, beyond what you already create. Wish to connect with them better? Check out how we can help.

Yes, we are know you use the fancy notetaking app that takes away all of your device’s resources but what about that notepad and pen, lost in your tote under the 3 books you’ll never finish? Aha! Call out much? Well, we relate to you and we would tell you to bring out that notepad and pen for once. Doodling your thoughts onto a physical piece of paper makes it so much more easier for you to de-tangle them and use each thought as a point of origin. Draw/scribble everything that comes to your mind and see where it takes you.

NOT AN ALTERNATIVE FOR US!! (Why would you want one anyway) Coming to the longer story, sometimes getting stuck on one single idea could mean that the idea is, useless in the moment. If it puts a lot of stress in your mind, it probably needs a bit more than just critical analysis (just a fancier word for overthinking). Hence, the best way out is to find alternate ideas on similar lines. Maybe some topics cannot be turned into a video, and some ideas look better as a text-heavy post.

Just like your mood board on Pinterest that we absolutely adore, one ideaboard that you could make is of your creative flow. Ideaboards are a compilation of your thoughts in the form of sticky notes, images, flowcharts or even excel sheets, all in one place to be used as a map to connect all of your ideas. Start working on one with our template. It’s better to be organised, even with your crazy content ideas!

Phew, that was our expertise in exercises for now. Stay tuned for more, maybe from a fitness creator next, who knows?
